Happy New Year!

What a fantastic 2012 for the Brown family! We welcomed our second son, Owen Preston Brown, bought a new house, went to San Diego, celebrated Landon's first birthday, had successful years at work, and made lots of special memories with our family and friends! I began blogging in January, and I'm so glad I did! Now I can look back at all of the amazing memories we made and see how much the boys grew in 2012! I plan to have this blog made into a book for us to keep forever...hopefully this will be easy to do! I will also try to keep up the blogging in 2013!

To celebrate the new year, we went to eat at a Japanese steakhouse (early bird special!!) with our friends the Meltons and Griffeths. Landon and his buddy Tripp enjoyed watching the cook at the table and playing together! They were quite busy, but who could blame them when they sat us on a raised floor (no chairs or high chairs!) at the edge of the table. Owen and Tanner were perfectly behaved and relaxed in their carseats the entire meal! After eating, we went back to the Meltons to watch the Chick-fil-a Bowl. The boys had so much playing in the basement with all of Tripp's awesome toys. We only made it until about 9:30 before Landon (and Philip and I) got super tired so we headed home. First year in a while we weren't awake to ring in the new year (but hey...we do have a 20 month old and a 6 week old! Cut us some slack!!)

We spent New Year's Day lounging around the house, cleaning up our Christmas decor, playing with the boys, and watching LOTS of football! I made red beans and rice to cover our New Year's luck (at least with the pork and lentil traditions). It was a very nice relaxing day spent as a family!
