Goals for the New Year

As I get older, the years seem to go by faster and faster! Not only that, but I am realizing how quickly things change!! I mean...when I think back to ringing in 2012, we had not even thought about having a second baby, Landon was not crawling yet, and we hadn't even talked about moving into a new house! Yet just  one year later, we have welcomed our second baby boy;  Landon is running, flipping, jumping, and talking up a storm; and we are so blessed in this beautiful new home.

Tonight, Philip and I talked about our goals for 2013. Philip spoke about finishing his dissertation and graduating! He has already been working so hard towards completing this goal, and we are so proud of him for all the amazing things he does every day!

My goal for 2013 is to cut myself a little slack. Between work and the boys, I always give myself lots of to-do lists. This year I would like to try to allow myself to just  BE sometimes...go with the moment! There are so many moments that I don't want to miss in 2013, and I want to be able to just throw my to-do lists aside and respond to the moment!

Both Philip and I look forward to a year making lots of memories with our growing family! We hope to spend lots of time playing, laughing, and snuggling! In fact, the past several mornings have been spent with all five of us (including our dog KJ) snuggled up in bed watching Elmo! My heart is just so full. Philip and I hold hands and just breathe in deep to take in every second with our family. My cup runneth over.

May our cups continue to run over with beautiful memories during this year, and may the year go by ever so slowly!
