Even on maternity leave, weekends are always wonderful because Philip is home too! Although he spent a lot of time writing on his dissertation, we made some time for family fun!
Saturday morning Landon had his first "Loved One and Me" gymnastics class! He LOVED it! Not a surprise though...Landon loves running, jumping, climbing, flipping...exactly what a toddler gymnastics class involves! He did great listening to the coach and waiting his turn! He also did awesome on the equipment during the obstacle course! Landon's best friend Tripp and his Mommy Crystal are in the class with us, so of course that makes it even more awesome! We had a blast and can't wait for next week!
Saturday afternoon, we went out and about in Athens. First we went to the State Botanical Gardens. Landon and Philip looked so handsome in their matching jackets (thanks Aunt Sharon and Mom and Dad!), and I snuggled Owen up in the Moby wrap. Landon loved the gardens, especially any source of water he could find! We stayed there for about an hour walking around then went to church. After church we went to Target to let Landon pick out his big boy underwear! He was so excited to pick out Elmo and "Choo Choo" underwear! He wanted to hold them in the car and decided to share some undies with his brother! :) Afterwards, we went to the Varsity to celebrate! What a great day!
Sunday morning, we woke up and had a lazy day around the house! Owen smiled his first "real" smile! Landon decided that he wanted to wear his underwear (so even though we had planned not to potty train until Thursday of this week) we let him wear his underwear. He was AMAZING with only 2 accidents the whole day!!
Sunday afternoon, Emily and I took the little boys to the movies to see Monsters Inc 3D! You may think we are CRAZY for taking a 21 month old and a 2 month old to the movies, but it was actually wonderful! Landon LOVED it (and the popcorn and twizzlers!) and sat in my lap watching the whole movie!! I was pretty surprised (when we went to see Brave this summer, he only made it half way through), and I wonder if it was that particular movie or if he is now able to handle going to the movies...I guess we'll see if we decide to brave the movies again soon! When we left, he cried and cried "more monsters, more monsters"! Luckily I have Monsters Inc at home, so we watched it again before bed. I am so blessed to have Emmy to have these fun little adventures with me! She's always up for anything!
