Dreams Come True at Disney: Animal Kingdom

Tuesday morning we woke up to rain pouring down. We could not decide what to do because of the rain, but knew that staying in a hotel with our two littles all day would not be a good option, so we decided to brave the weather and head to the Animal Kingdom. We sure lucked out, because it only sprinkled for the first 15 minutes at the park and then turned into a beautiful day!

We had a great time at the park! There weren't as many rides for the kids, but there was so much to see and do! The shows were awesome, and we just loved the Lion King show! Philip and I also took turns riding two of the adult rides. Our favorite ride by far though was the animal safari! The natural surroundings were so beautiful, and the animals were just amazing. One of my favorite parts of the day was when Landon kept trying to take his shirt off. I kept telling him to stop. Then I finally said, "why do you keep trying to take your shirt off. Turns out he wasn't really trying to take it off, just put it on his head. He said, "I'm trying to be a lion! Roar!!" Landon loved the jungle parade and yelled at all the characters as they rode by on the floats!

Poor Owen spiked a fever in the afternoon, so we left the park after the 3:30 parade and actually headed to a walk-in clinic to make sure that Owen's ear infection didn't come back. Poor kid- the yuckiness just keeps sneaking back! The doc (who was quite a jerk) said it was just a cold and didn't give him any kind of medication. So after a long and frustrating visit with no medicine, we ordered Bonefish Grill to-go and all snuggled up in the hotel room and watched Toy Story 2! Owen is feeling much better though and his fever was gone by Thanksgiving morning!

All in all, it was a fun day, and we really liked Animal Kingdom! Both of the parks we were able to go to were just wonderful, and the kids absolutely LOVED every aspect of Disney! Philip and I had a blast too, and enjoyed our time together as a family!

Disney really is a magical place, and I know Philip and I will forever remember the look in our children's eyes as they experienced this magic for the first time!
