Someone had told me that instead of just wearing your normal tennis shoes, most people "bling" up their shoes. So of course I had to participate! I had so much fun finding the perfect tennis shoes at Target and buying accessories at Michael's. Then, I spent a good hour or so with my mom jazzing them up! I was pretty proud of them, and I actually ended up winning the "Best Shoe" at the gala! This was the best prize ever because I won 4 pairs of shoes!!!
Philip and I also enjoyed the silent auction and discovered that we are really much to competitive to participate in something like this! Ha!! It's like we forget about how much money we are spending and even the prize just so we can WIN!! We won a basketball signed by a bunch of coaches and a Final Four coffee table--both goodies for the basement!
The dinner was fabulous, and I'm sure the speakers were great, we just couldn't hear them because of the echo and we were at a table all the way in the back!
Overall, Philip and I really enjoyed spending such a wonderful evening together and being able to support such a great organization. We definitely hope we can go again next year!!
