Happy Mother's Day 2013

My sweet boys sure spoiled me this Mother's Day! We decided to go to church and dinner on Saturday night so we could avoid all the crowds! (Crowds make two little ones a bit more difficult!) We got all dressed up and enjoyed a fun dinner out.

The boys were pretty good at dinner, but our waitress was not very fast and did not check on our table very often, which made things a little more stressful. However, after we were finished with dinner and I was gathering our things, an older woman leaned over to talk to me. She told me that the boys were precious and so well behaved. I laughed and thanked her. She asked if Philip and I remembered anything we ate. I laughed again and said, "actually no!" She said that too soon we would enjoy dinner without two little ones to keep up with. They grow up too quickly. It really made me think about my sweet boys and cherishing every second I have of them being my little boys. That evening we got home and sat on the porch. We listened to the rain fall and watched Toy Story. Both of the boys snuggled up in my arms, and it was absolutely perfect!

On Sunday we stayed home and hung around the house. Philip grilled out, and we played outside. Simple, sweet, Mother's Day fun!

For Mother's Day, the boys (really their daycare teachers) made me several sweet gifts with their pictures and hand prints!! They also bought me a new pair of Toms, a massage, and Philip surprised me with tickets to see Darius Rucker next weekend!! And my Mom bought me a pedicure! I am a spoiled Mommy!!! I told them I was fine with just the snuggles, but they went all out!!

We were sad we didn't get to see our moms on Mother's Day, but the end of the school year is a very stressful time of the year for us to go home (plus with Philip needing to spend lots of time making the finishing touches on his dissertation). However, we called and talked to our moms and thought about all the sacrifices they have made for us. I am certainly blessed with a caring and giving mom whom I love dearly!
