Friends of Eve Carson Award

I was honored to receive the Friends of Eve Carson Award for Excellence in Teaching. Monday night we had a dinner at the Classic Center to receive the award. My Dad drove all the way up from Valdosta to join Philip and I at the dinner. We were so thankful that Emily babysat Landon. Of course they had a blast together!

My sweet student Jordan introduced me. I was so proud of him for getting up in front of over a hundred people. His wonderful Mom worked on a video with some of the students at school, which made me feel beyond special. You can find the link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqIsLNqlm7g&list=FLHC4cm7QJzr5YodzzofdIJw&index=1&feature=plpp_video.

I had to give a speech, which could only be 3 minutes, but I get really nervous speaking in front of adults in that capacity. Teaching in front of people...I can handle...but giving speeches...not for me! However, the award I won is in honor of an amazing young woman, which made it a lot easier. I feel really blessed to have received this award, and I pray that my life's work with children creates a love for learning and a passion for making a difference in the world.

Giving my speech!

So blessed to have such a supportive husband!

Landon had a blast with Auntie Em!

He loved a surprise play date with his Popsy!
