A Great Trade!

Last Wednesday morning, Philip could not find any of Landon's pacifiers to bring to daycare. After a good report from school, we decided it was a good day to just quit cold turkey! That seems to be the best thing for Landon and us when weaning off of something. When we switched him from cup to bottle, he would only get his bottle at night. So Landon would just not drink anything all day until it was time for his bottle at night. Finally, we just quit cold turkey. He had about one day where he didn't really drink well and then the next day drank out of his cup. Over and done!

I could see the pacifier lasting for years with this slow weaning process, so we just decided it was time to be over and done. We figure we'll wait a few weeks after Owen is born before he gets a paci...and it will be a tiny newborn paci..., so that should give Landon a good 6 weeks or so to get adjusted to life without a paci.

This weekend he kept finding some "hidden" pacis around the house. He calls them "yay yays." When he would find one, he would come find us and give us the funniest "I'm being bad" look with the paci in his mouth. It was hilarious!

He and Philip made a trade to get back this newborn paci he found! A yay yay for an oreo! I think it was a pretty good trade!
