The boys and I had so much fun preparing for Owen's Mickey Mouse birthday! We made everything and repurposed a lot of things from Landon's Sesame Street birthday because the colors were very similar!
The little boys loved to help me cut and glue (even if sometimes they were doing the opposite of helping!) Haha! One fun thing about having a party at the house is I always start decorating a week or two before the party just to keep it fun versus being stressful. The kids LOVE seeing the decor, helping put it up, and then talk about their birthdays for weeks!
Here are some highlights from the party decor...
The Mickey wreath for the door was a repurposed item that Barbara had gotten for Landon's Sesame Street birthday. Underneath the paper Mickeys are Elmos! Hehe!
The dining room was Mickey Central! I found that Mickey Canvas at Hobby Lobby for like $8 on sale! And now it's fun to have down in the basement!
(We love to switch out artwork in the dining room!)
(The polka dots are wrapping paper I got on sale at Hobby Lobby for $3)
The boys, our friend Dakari, and I made the Mickey Mouse cupcakes. We just did funfetti, chocolate icing, and oreos for the Mickey ears! Fun and easy!
Aunt Sharon found these Mickey chicken nuggets for us at Costco! We also had hotdogs, an orzo pasta salad, baked beans, chips, dips, and fruits and veggies!
Mickey was so easy because you could just cut out a Mickey face to use anywhere! I bought different scrapbook paper and black cardstock for all the banners and just had fun making them from scratch.
Barbara always loves to make the treatbags for us! These were awesome and made with love by alot of the Jarrard family while they were spending days at the hospital with Philip's sweet Granny. The bags were full of puzzles, stickers, party blowers, candy, straws, and crayons!
Even though a lot of decor was inside, most people spent the whole party outside enjoying the gorgeous weather! For activities for the party, we had the little tikes bounce house out (best purchase we've ever made!), all the boys' riding toys, sports equipment, chalk, and bubbles. Just good classic toys (and all things we already had)!
The party was a huge success and SO much fun! I think Owen (and Landon) had a blast at Owie's Mickey Mouse Bday!
