Everlasting Love

My Maw Maw and Paw Paw are celebrating their 65th Wedding Anniversary this week! We had a reception in Baton Rouge this weekend to celebrate their love!!

They are an amazing couple and their love is an inspiration. With five children, Maw Maw worked in the home, while Paw Paw worked at a local plant. After the children were raised and Paw Paw retired, they have enjoyed working in their garden, creating interesting "inventions" and crafts, and cooking! They even travelled to some cool places including Alaska!!

Of course we had to celebrate with them and the rest of our family despite a busy October month. We wouldn't miss it!!

The boys and I left after work on Friday and drove through the night. We arrived around 2 am and were pretty exhausted the next day. Luckily Popsy, Lolo, and Em took turns watching the kids on Saturday (especially Owen), so we eventually got a couple more hours of sleep! The boys also went to Bass Pro Shop and Philip and Landon had a blast!

Saturday afternoon we went to the party, and celebrated with the entire extended Stephens family. So much detail was put into the event, including decorations, a printed family tree, great grand children song, slide show, and special speeches. Lolo also put a lot of effort into entertaining all the great grandkids and making them feel special with lots of treats!

It was truly a wonderful party, and I know Maw Maw and Paw Paw felt very loved!!

After the party we went to Uncle Tim's farm. Landon was so excited to ride all the tractors and golf carts! He was pretty obsessed with Uncle Tim and followed him around most of the night as he showed him all the cool things on the farm! Owen loved getting snuggled by Maw Maw, Aunt Joan, and Lolo! We also enjoyed a bonfire outside!

Even though it was a super long trip in a short weekend, we wouldn't have missed this time with my family celebrating the everlasting love of two very special people!
