We are so excited to be heading up to visit Emily while she has a short break at camp! We are also excited because Philip is FINISHED with his dissertation! He just has to defend July 9th!! He delivered his dissertation to his committee members the day before we left!! So off we go on an exploration of the East Coast!!
Our first stop along our trek was Washington DC! We left around 3 am so the boys would sleep most of the way! They were fantastic on the drive! We arrived in DC around 2 and went to dinner with some great friends! We loved getting to see the Smith family and meet Cooper! After dinner, we took the subway and headed to the White House! The boys loved riding the subway and eating ice cream!
The next day, we slept in (till almost 9!!) and packed up, then went to the mall.We went to both the Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum! Landon loved the museums (and so did Owen)! Landon kept saying "Wow! What's this?" After we left, he said his favorite parts of the day were riding in the airplane and seeing the dinosaurs!!
Philip said that so far our trip gets a 10/10! I agree!! So glad it's only just begun!
WAY TO GO PHILIP!!!!! And yay for such a fun beginning to a great adventure!!:) I can't wait to read about the rest of the trip!
