The Sweetest Job of All...Being a Mother!

We had a great Mother's Day Weekend...although it started off with quite a bit of excitement!

My sweet Mother's Day present from Landon!

I ended up getting home late on Friday because Mrs. Hammarlund and I helped some of our fifth grade girls make cakes and cupcakes for the "Moving On" Ceremony that took place Monday afternoon. When I got home we had hoped to go to Relay for Life, but Philip had two events at his school. Being that we live close to his school and 20 minutes from Athens, it was a lot easier to just go to his events. So, Philip went to the soccer game, and Landon and I went to the concert on the cow pasture. The concert was to raise money for fresh water in Africa. Philip was going to come over to the concert after the soccer game.

The cute cupcakes the girls designed and made for the ceremony!

Landon was having a GREAT time at the concert. He was dancing to the music, laughing, and playing with some kids that he spotted sitting behind us. He was being a little snuggly, but I figured it was because he missed me since I had worked late several nights this week. Then...all of a sudden... Landon just THREW UP all over himself and me! I was shocked and didn't know what to do! I just grabbed our bag and raced us to the car! How unexpected! It turned out he had a tummy bug which lasted all weekend! Poor little thing!

Landon enjoying the start of the concert.

Does this look like a sick boy to you?

If I only knew what would happen 5 minutes after I took this picture...

So the rest of the weekend we just stayed home! On Saturday night, Philip grilled steaks, and I made a cake to celebrate summer vacation... which is only a few days away!!

My yummy cake!  I ate it covered in cool whip and strawberries!

Mommy...What are you doing inside? Come outside with us!!

The backyard is so much fun!

We had planned a special day for Mother's Day, but Landon was still sick on Sunday morning, so we couldn't leave the house. Not to mention that it rained ALL day! Landon finally seemed to be feeling better by Sunday afternoon, so we decided to get out of the house and go to Lawrenceville to REI. We were going to eat at Bonefish Grill, but there was a LONG wait, so we decided to go to Steak and Shake! Isn't that a crazy second option. It actually turned out to be PERFECT! Landon was so well behaved because the restaurant is so open and loud, and I got to pig out on a milkshake and cheese fries!

12 weeks pregnant with Baby Brown #2...sorry for the blurry picture!

One sweetie in my arms and the other in my tummy on Mother's Day!

Landon is ready for some camping this summer!

We all LOVE Steak and Shake!

To tell you the truth, this weekend was exactly the way a Mother's Day Weekend should be (minus Landon not feeling good)! I got to spend the whole weekend snuggling and playing with my boys...simply perfect! And they treated me like a queen!
