First Trip to the Library and a Goat Named Katherine

Yesterday was a glorious summer day! It was what I imagined summer to be like all along! Our first day of summer on Monday was not exactly what I had envisioned with Landon being sick...still..., having to go back to the doctor, and my poor baby getting a shot. But yesterday was perfectly simple and simply perfect! The way summer should be!

Landon and I spent the morning playing, cleaning, and walking the neighborhood with our friends Leslie and Tripp. Then we went to the library for the first time! They had a special guest reader who juggled and did all kinds of cool tricks. Landon was a pretty attentive listener until the very end he started to get antsy. He loved exploring the library, and I had fun helping him pick out his first books. Our library system has so many great programs at different locations, so I know we will be back at least once a week for the summer!

Yesterday evening after Landon went to bed, I kissed my boys and headed out for a girls' evening at my friend Isabelle's farm. She lives on 15 beautiful acres and has all kinds of animals. As I arrived her son Henry ran to my car yelling, "Katherine is here! And we just named a goat after you!" One of their goats, Sylvia, had literally just had two baby goats... I missed it by minutes. They decided to name them Katherine and Elizabeth since we were guests the evening of their birth. The baby goats were amazing to see, and Sylvia was such a good Mommy.

After we watched the goats for a bit, we sat at a table underneath the trees and talked until the sun set and into the night. It was a beautiful evening spent with such sweet friends.
