Landon turned one year old on Sunday, April 8th. To celebrate his special day, Philip and I threw him a First Birthday Circus on Saturday. The party was everything we imagined and more! Landon smiled and laughed the entire day! He didn't even want to take a nap the whole day because he was having so much fun with his friends and family! But sweet boy that he is, he didn't cry or whine once, so we let him stay up and enjoy the excitement!
Since I already posted so many pictures from the party on facebook, the first post I'll do will highlight all the details. Then, I'll probably do a post with pictures of all the people enjoying the party, and finally one with all the photo booth pictures. That way the Brown Family will have memories of Landon's first birthday in the blog world forever!
Come on in, step right up and have a ball!
On the door was a balloon wreath that I made back in January. Do you remember? You can also see one of the signs from the Dimpleprints package I ordered. You will notice elements from the beautiful package throughout the party!
As guests entered, they could sign the book, Curious George Goes to the Circus. I am so excited about this, because it will be a special keepsake for Landon to have forever.
My sweet friend Lindsay Ann made all of the cakes for Landon. She made an amazing circus tent cake, animal cupcakes, and a clown smash cake! The cakes were not only beautiful but absolutely delicious. It was so special to us that she and her husband put in so much time and effort into making the perfect circus cakes!
We had lots of other yummy circus inspired food, too! Incredible Shrinking Corn Dogs, Fire Breathing Chicken Dip, Fabulous Flying Fruit, Cirque De Chick-Fil-A Nuggets, and Circus Animal Crackers with Chocolate Chip Dip! We also had chips, puffs, and yogurt bites. Oh yeah! And the most important food of all...the sno cone machine and popcorn machine outside! Everybody's FAVORITE foods!
Before we go outside, you must see the photo booth we had inside. My wonderful friend Denise hooked us up! Everyone had so much fun with the photobooth! We had clown wigs, hats, bowties, and noses for people to wear as they took pictures. I may put all the photobooth pictures in a separate blog post because they are just SO cute! I also decorated the mantle with a banner I printed from Dimpleprints and the cute circus train I painted from Hobby Lobby. I got the idea for the pom pom strings from the blog Growing Up Gardner. I just loved the mantle! Also playing in the living room was a powerpoint made by Philip's Aunt Sharon. It was so special and had pictures and memories of Landon's first year of life!
I tried to think of lots of seating for people all over the house and yard. Our friend Marisa happens to have the same patio table as us, so we borrowed her patio table and tent. My Dad made the roasted peanuts, and I sewed all the table runners.
I also tried to have lots of activities for all the different aged kids (in addition to the photo booth). We had a bean bag toss, lots of balls to throw, a ball pit (Landon's bday present from Aunt Chelle), circus books to read, bubbles, chalk, and a circus wagon (Landon's bday present from Popsy and Lolo). The kiddos seemed to have so much fun! None of the activities were organized events, just available for kids to run (or crawl) and play as they chose.
Of course my favorite part of the party was when Landon ate his smash cake. He loved it! He wore a special bib from his Aunt Sharon. (More pictures of him eating the cake in the post with lots of fun pictures from the party!)
We were so thankful to our friends and family for coming to the party. We sent the kids off with little boxes of circus animal crackers.

So cute! I am a new follower. :)
