Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day was so special, and I guess the celebration really lasted all weekend for me! I picked the boys up early from school on Friday and took them to get ice cream and to play at the park! When I got home, I had a package from my mom with a Mother's Day gift, "Hands Free Mama!" I am so excited about reading this book, and I think the summer will be the perfect time to reflect on how I am spending my time and whether I am focusing on what really matters in life!

Friday night we went to the ChopHouse in Madison for dinner! It's one of our favorite restaurants, and so much fun to take a little "staycation" to Madison for the evening! We walked around town after dinner and went to the park. The boys had so much fun running around the town square and climbing on the stage!

Saturday we had a clean up at Sandy Creek for one of my sweet little student's Type III projects. We met her family there and spent about an hour cleaning up the park and picking up trash. Then we let the kids run around and play!

It was also one of my best friend, Diane's, 50th birthday on Saturday. Her husband planned her a surprise birthday party, which was so much fun! We don't get to see each other very often anymore, so it was so nice to get to spend some time with her on Saturday celebrating the wonderful woman she is!

On Sunday, I woke up to Philip making me breakfast and a brand new Michael Kors purse (I haven't had an adult purse in YEARS!) We went to church, and then to my FAVORITE restaurant in town--Inokos! Then we went home and just kind of crashed!

We missed seeing our own mothers but were able to skype with them and talk to them on the phone. We are both very blessed with wonderful mothers who love us and do so much for us! Even though we couldn't see them on Mother's Day, we hope they know how much we love them and appreciate them!
