Trip to Louisiana: Baton Rouge

Friday afternoon we left New Orleans for family visits in Baton Rouge. We stopped off at Aunt Carol's to leave our things, since that is where we stayed Friday and Saturday nights, then took the boys to see Maw Maw and Paw Paw Stephens. Owen Preston is named after his Paw Paw Preston, so we were so excited for them to meet.

The boys loved visiting their great grandparents! Owen loved all the kisses, and Landon loved playing outside and eating Maw Maw's banana pudding!

After a fun visit, we went to my cousin Lisa and her husband Francisco's house for a cookout. She and her hubby were so sweet to host the get together for the Backes side of the family. We all enjoyed catching up, and Landon had a blast playing with his cousins! It was so cute to watch him try to play with his "big" cousins, and they were so sweet to include him!

On Saturday, we spent the morning relaxing at Aunt Carol's. We had been so busy, we thought it would be nice for the boys to get a real nap. Landon obviously needed it, because he slept for almost three hours. In fact, we finally just had to wake him up to go to the crawfish boil. While the boys were napping, Aunt Carol insisted that Philip and I go on a little date, so we went to eat at Chimes. It was really nice!

Saturday afternoon, we went to a crawfish boil at my cousin Kaje and his wife Lindsey's house with the Stephens family. It was so much fun to see all the family and watch Landon play with all his cousins. They are all under 6, so they had a blast together! In fact, when we left, Tripp asked if Landon could spend the night! That just warmed my heart! Owen loved getting lots of love and snuggles from his great grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles!

We had such a wonderful trip and were so thankful that we got to see so much of my family! We were truly appreciative to everyone for taking time from their busy schedules to spend time with us and host us at their homes. We are truly blessed!
