Holiday Traditions New and Old

Christmas is extra special this year with our family of four! We had so much fun decorating our new house for Christmas, and have enjoyed starting new traditions and enjoying old traditions.

A new tradition that we started was the Elf on the Shelf. My Mom got us the book and elf last year, but we decided to wait until Landon could understand. We weren't sure he would understand this year, but he found the book on the fireplace and brought it to Philip one night to read. Landon was really interested in the elf, so we decided to try it. He LOVES it! He named the elf, "Neigh". Which really cracked us up! Despite me trying to get him to pick actual names, he just kept calling it, "Neigh!" So, it stuck! Haha!

When Landon wakes up every morning, he looks in the old spot for Neigh and says, "Neigh! All Gone!" He then has a blast looking around for Neigh's new hiding spot! We are having a blast with it!

We also had such a wonderful time picking out our Christmas tree! Philip and I have loved chopping down a tree together since we were married, and we had a blast picking out a tree with the boys. We went to the tree farm, but did cheat a little and got one of the pre-cut Frasier Furs (b/c they are just so pretty!)

Getting a Christmas tree is so much fun!

Let's pick this tree!

All this fun tired both the boys out!

Such a special time celebrating the holidays with our sweet little family and starting and continuing Christmas traditions that we will continue for years to come.
