We Owned the Night!

During the summer, Philip works 10+ hour days Mon-Thurs. and is off on Friday! Friday was supposed to be a big packing day. Landon and I went swimming that morning while Philip worked on the office, so when we got home I knew Landon would nap for at least 3 hours. A couple hours into the packing, Philip came upstairs where I was working on boxing up a shelf.

He declared that we needed to do something special! He convinced me that we should forget the packing for the day and go to the Lady Antebellum concert. At first I fought him on it, but then I gave in! We quickly finished packing upstairs, then got ready for the concert. We packed all of our bags for the weekend (as we were going to Atlanta for a shower) and left as soon as Landon woke up! We met Aunt Sharon in Atlanta, sent Landon with her, and headed to the Gwinnett Arena!

Landon wanted to go to the concert too! He says, "I can be a cowboy!"
Baby Boy and me at the concert. 17 weeks pregnant.

Loving our last minute date!

The concert was wonderful!  The opening band was Thompson Square.

Next up was Darius Rucker! He has actually been my favorite country singer for a while now and the main reason that we went to the concert! I just LOVE Darius Rucker...and so does Philip! This is my favorite song of his. I usually get a little emotional when I hear it, but listening to him sing the song in real life made me cry for real! I'm talking huge crocodile tears through the entire song!

Finally Lady A played! They were great performers! Philip and I liked them before the concert, but we LOVE them now. I think we were surprised during the concert at how many of their songs we knew. What a great show!

And so much fun to do something on a whim! Most of the time I like to plan things ahead of time and look forward to it for months, but it sure feels great to just make a last minute decision to do something a little crazy and fun! We sure felt like we owned that perfect night!
