Owen is 3 Years Old!!

Owen turned 3 on November 14th.  He is such a fun little boy!

First of all Owen has such a great sense of humor! He is very silly and thinks of ways to make us laugh all the time! He loves playing with his brothers and tries to be a big helper! He also loves his friends at school, especially Finn.

He is also quite shy in public situations. Sometimes he remains outgoing (like at one of Philip's basketball games), but typically in a public place with people he doesn't know, you can find him clinging to the back of mine or Philip's legs quietly.

Owen is sweet and loving. He loves to snuggle, and if he gets in trouble gets very upset and wants to be held and loved on. He switches off on being attached to Mommy and Daddy. He also LOVES his grandmothers and is pretty much attached to either BB or Lolo when they are visiting!

He loves sports and is a natural athelete. He can hold his own with Landon's friends in playing basketball, football, wrestling, etc. He also loves to read!! You can often find him with a book flipping through the pages, "reading" the words he has memorized. He is really good at memorizing books and often surprises me at how much he can recite from books we've read. (Sometimes he can retell random details from stories that we have read only once or months ago!
Here is a video of him retelling part of "Love you Forever." Be still my heart!

Owen LOVES to eat and will pretty much eat anything you put in front of him (except PBJ..go figure...)!  He loves being a "chef" and helping Mommy cook! He tells me that his favorite drinks are sprite, gatorade, coke, and tea! Ha! We only let him have those on special occasions!

Owen is generally a really good listener. You can pretty much always count on being able to give him instructions (like put on your shoes please), and he will follow the directions the first time. His teacher says he is a good boy and always does what he is supposed to do!

Our little Owen does have a temper though! If he gets mad, he can easily lose control of his actions! We are learning how to help him think through these times and how to react nicely when he doesn't get his way!

Owen can spell his name and count up to 15. He knows all his colors and shapes. He can also identify his name in a group of names. However, he does not like to be put on the spot. Often times if you ask him to do something he will ignore you or tell you he doesn't want to do it! You kind of just have to watch him and make it into play to find out what he knows! The only thing he does like to "practice" is his red envelope of letters if Landon is practicing his sight words.

My goodness we love our Owie bug! He is such a wonderful boy, and we are so thankful that God has sent him to be our baby forever!
