I love hot air balloons! Owen and Lincoln's baby rooms were/are decorated with hot air balloons, and I have beautiful memories of them from my childhood. This summer I looked to see if there were any festivals in Georgia, and I found one on October 17th! I put it on the calendar, but was pretty disappointed when we realized it would be Philip's Homecoming weekend. Luckily the festival (which was actually on Saturday) had an early morning balloon send-off on Sunday morning, so the boys and I got up early and headed out of town! We made it just in time to watch the balloons launch! Although it was quite cold, the balloons were absolutely gorgeous!
After the balloon launch, it was about 9:30, and we had lots of day ahead of us! We were only about an hour outside of Dahlonega, so we decided to trek up the the Gold Rush Festival.
Then we headed up to our favorite trail and outfitter shop on Blood Mountain, right off the Appalachian Trail! The leaves had just started to change, so we were able to enjoy a fun time together and lots of beautiful views!
I am a blessed woman for sure with such a beautiful family in such a beautiful world!
